Emmys
Today I spent the whole morning watching the Preshow and the Emmy's. I love awards shows I've decided, but I hate Ryan Seacrest. I thought the opening number was hysterical, but I don't like when they "pretend" like these cartoon characters are on the stage. it just looks forced. Put them on the screen, it's just easier. And next year ditch the theater in-the-round. It was disorienting and confusing. And they always focused on one side, ti's not like the actually rotated the center of focus. As for the winners, I have to say I was disappointed by almost all of them. I'm so so happy America Ferera (sp) won, but James Spader? The Sopranos? yuck. I was glad ricky gervais won, seeing as I hate Steve Carrell. And who knew there were so many damned "miniseries/special" categories. NO ONE CARES. Also, please refrain from the sleazy comments about hayden panettiere turning 18. We got it the first 3 times, now drop it. Especially having neil patrick harris make the joke. Or maybe that's the only way they can make it slightly less sleazy. (speaking of, no one asked him about his boyfriend being at the awards, yet every other guy was up there with their wives) And was it ok to return to the audience after your award? Cause really it made Tony Bennett look senile. Oh, and the censoring. What the fuck was that about? I thought the director had fucked up, and it wasn't until later when Sally Field said "God-damned" that i realized what was going on. So yeah, i'm disappointed. But I'm hoping Ellen's coverage and some of the post-party coverage is more interesting. I'll let you know what i dig up.
Mister X
So yesterday Jenny, Ryoko, and I went to this yukata party. For those of you who don't know a Yukata is like a summer kimono. I think we might have been the only foreigners most people have seen in yukata, but it was fun. Especially all the stares and nearly killing myself in my geta (kimono sandals, for lack of a better term). But the strangest part was that at the party they had this big arm wrestling competition, which was really interesting until they asked me to compete. Clearly it was foreigner appeal because let's be serious, I'm not a big guy, and I certainly don't understand Japanese. Anyway, i have to put on a scary wrestling mask, so no one knows it's me. Granted my yukata has giant Japanese chess pieces on it so you'd have to be a retard to not know what's up, but we'll let it slide.
Anyway i go out there and just sort of stand around and try and look strong without passing out from nerves. Finally when it's my turn to compete, they put me up against the second biggest dude in the whole competition (who just happens to be wearing a giant panda hat). Seriously, the guy went on to second place. He was gracious enough to let it look like I had a chance in hell for a few seconds, which my ego appreciated it. Apparently I was a big hit though. Everyone kept coming up to me and saying "good job" and shit. And it got us invited to their monthly party next month. My six-degrees-of-seperation just exploded all over japan. It was slightly depressing I didn't talk to more people, but when my range of questions are "What is your job?" and "What are your hobbies?", only with no ability to follow up, conversations lag. But there's always next month.

Beware the trash people
I am of course referring to the scary, possibly homeless people that ride around on trash nights collecting trash from the pick-up spots on the street. If you've ever seen Labyrinth, they're a bit like those scary old women with junk on their backs. Tonight is trash night so I'm always nervous of bumping into them.
In other news: http://www.xkcd.com/308/ Word up to that.
Just got back from Osaka for the weekend, for Brian's birthday. It was fun and relaxing. We walked around in these awesome Japanese model homes. I really want the one with the ninja rooms. Brian's gone for the next two weeks so I have to amuse myself in Nagoya without spending too much money. Should be a boring old time, but I don't mind so much. This weekend I have to go buy a yukata and maybe some dinosaur converse. Not to go together mind you.
I'm currently watching this random British show called "Skins". It's like a teen drama on six-kinds of illegal drugs, but it's interesting. I really really like the theme music because it seems like just a bunch of random noise that somehow comes together into this interesting music. Reminds me of life, if that doesn't sound too melodramatic. I'm sure it does anyway.
Off to putz around.

High School Musical 2
I am freaking OBSESSED with this movie. The song "Bet on it" and "I Don't Dance" have been on repeat in my head for the past four days. In my personal opinion the High School Musical 1 was a better movie, but this one has better songs. Zac Efron, while pretty in a kind of plastic way, has a very strange personality. I was looking him up on YouTube, cause I'm that kind of person.
In other news, I found out i have 6,618 songs on my computer. Well, lets say 6,600, as there are some repeats or very near repeats. I listen to about 20 of them.

Stirfry and a movie
Actually two movies, but first the stirfry. And sorry if the font doesn't match, I'm still finding a font that I don't hate. Anyway I'm going to try my first stir-fry and I am needless to say nervous. I'm not a disastrous cook, but I am also not a great cook like Brian. i can follow a recipe and make reasonably edible food, so I guess I just need to tuck in and do it.
Last night I watched D.O.A. (Dead or Alive) and Children of Men. DOA is about these large chested women fighting, and it was nice stupid fun. The fighting was fun, the plot didn't require too much of a commitment while not being too too stupid. Really, stupid fun. Children of Men was like the opposite on the light-hearted scale. Very dark, but not bad. It's actually the second time I've tried to watch it, the first time having such bad quality I had to turn it off. Towards the end though CoM was just too dreary for me. There were like two tones to the whole movie: Grey and gray. I was impressed by the message about human nature it was imparting I just wish it didn't impart it so strongly.
Ok, I think my pan has sufficiently warmed up enough for me to try this. hopefully i won't poison myself.

Sore Ankle
No, not my ankle. That was just what this strange foreigner said at the Mexican bar last night. In a German accent. I feel like I've lost any and all ability to be polite in public. I never hear English so when I do i get giddy to the point of rude. And loud.
I stayed up WAY too late on Friday to finish "So you Think You Can Dance" and I have to say I'm really happy that Sabra won. I knew Niel wouldn't even though I liked him, but I didn't really like Lacey for reasons I couldn't place, and Danny always annoyed me. Sure Danny was an amazing dancer technically, he just seemed like a bitch. And Sabra just seemed so nice, so that's great.
There's far too much month left at the end of my money, so today is cleaning day. I hope to only leave my apartment once, to get something to eat quick. If I'm diligent I might get shit done. I had no idea diligent only had one L. Did I mention I've forgotten large chunks of English?
I was just asked to help RJ solder something. This'll be the first time I've soldered in about 4 years. And even at Bucknell I always got Meh or Judy to do it. I'm a little worried I'm going to short out his Wii and it will literally explode and kill the two of us.
Off to laundry and cleaning.

First Post
I suppose I should have come up with a better title for my post, but I feel it's best to keep it idiot free. I have no idea if I'll ever continue this, but if I do then it should be fun. I won't really introduce myself, so either you will have to know me or just keep reading. And since I'm kind of a giant open book, that shouldn't be too difficult. Let see how good I get at this!
